Class Time Committment

Time is a precious commodity and particularly so amidst this pandemic. We are sensitive to the “new normal” and unknowns we are all facing. However, where there is a challenge….there is an opportunity!   And great leaders learn to adjust, get creative and innovate.  We believe this “new opportunity” offers us more flexibility and creativity to stay true to our mission of empowering leaders to champion and strengthen the interests of our community. Class 36 will be held in person September 2022-May 2023. We understand the uncertainty returning to large group gatherings; therefore we will continue to adhere to CDC guidelines on Covid-19 safety. Candidates should carefully consider the significance and importance of the time commitment as class members are expected to attend all mandatory program days and must attend a total of 12 days in order to graduate.  Additional time is required for project work, special events and attendance at a city council meeting.

Class days are approximately every other Friday between September and May from 8 AM – 4:00 PM.  Informal networking opportunities are planned by class members following each class day and allow for great relationship building within the class! We are currently solidifying all dates and venues.  We will follow all safety and social distancing guidelines and will need venues with enough size to accommodate these new rules.  Firm dates will be provided as soon as possible.

Accepted candidates will be invited to special events and gatherings this fall as put an emphasis on alumni engagement and connectivity. This is a great way to meet our incredible alumni and community leaders! Our class members range in age (mid-20’s to retired), experience, industry, involvement and so much more.  Leaders are always learning and we will be sharing many tools to put in your leadership toolbox!

We are in the midst of planning the Welcome Reception which is held the evening of the first day of class and this is our way of presenting our newest class members to the community.  The Project Lead It Forward (PLIF) Showcase is a culmination presentation of small group projects that benefit our community along with graduation from Scottsdale Leadership. These combined events occur the last day of class.
