Scottsdale Leadership’s Core Program is designed to give participants the knowledge, connections, skills and confidence to take on leadership roles in the community.  Each year, forty diverse and talented individuals are selected to participate in the nine-month interactive program.

The core program consists of three primary elements: topic days, leadership skill modules and implementation of a community service project – Project Pay It Forward.  Access to community decision-makers; opportunities to discuss current community issues; tours of community facilities and connecting with Scottsdale Leadership alumni are an integral part of the experience.

Topic Day examples: Diversity, Education, Economic Development, Community Stewardship, Arts & Culture Sustainability, Youth Issues, City & State Government, etc.

Leadership Skill Module examples: Consensus Building, Starting a Nonprofit, Ethical Leadership, etc.

Project Pay It Forward examples: OlymPALooza: Connecting Seniors & Youth, Check the Box: Scottsdale Cares fundraising & awareness campaign, Meet Green: Planning environmentally-friendly meetings, etc.
