Christine (Chris) Irish joined Scottsdale Leadership as its executive director in 2007. Irish’s career includes 15 years of non-profit management along with work in municipal government and real estate. With a genuine passion for community stewardship, Irish’s tenure has enabled Scottsdale Leadership to thrive and prosper.

Irish plays an intricate role in empowering the organization’s volunteer board of directors and community volunteers to create an environment that is inclusive and forward-thinking. She garners excellent support from a wide variety of stakeholders including community partners, business leaders and elected officials. Her energy and creativity encourage participation from alumni and accomplishments by staff.

Currently serving on the Scottsdale Public Arts Board, Irish is also spearheading collaboration efforts between the Valley’s leadership organizations. She is a member of Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce and Friends of Public Radio. Irish served on the board of directors of Arizona Citizens and Action for the Arts, including a stint as president. She has lead projects for United Way, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, and the Red Rock Arts Council.

A graduate of Eastern Illinois University, Irish moved to Arizona in 1979. Prior to being hired by Scottsdale Leadership, she and her husband, Bob, spent 18 years in Sedona where he served as police chief. They have two sons and seven grandchildren.
